My husband has just got the results shown above and is due to have a nuclear bone scan on 19/3/26. We will likely have an appointment in April to discuss the results.  No mention of biopsy as yet.  Urologist has commented, in passing, that due to my husband’s health (he has MS) and age 77, he would not tolerate treatment. With this in mind, do you think that a biopsy would be planned.  Uroloohas already stated a watchful waiting scenario.

  • Hello

Welcome to the group, although I am so sorry to find you joining us.

The normal treatment would be Radiotherapy and Hormone Therapy. It sounds as though with your husband’s MS the urologist thinks a combination of the above added to his MS would be too much for him to take.

For me - ok - I am not medically trained BUT - even if no biopsy is taken I would be asking to speak to both his MS consultant and an oncologist to review if both treatments can be tailored to your husbands needs.

I wouldn’t just be accepting the urologist’s “let’s wait and see attitude”.

I hope the above helps. Please do come back with any questions, however trivial.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi  very sorry you are in this position.  I am with Brian, if he can get treatment and tolerate it, go with holding off the PCa for as long as possible.

    Best wishes, David

Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.

  • Without the biopsy it will be very difficult to tell what the best reaction would be.

The first thought that leapt to mind was "What would they be waiting for, exactly?"

I would be wanting to find out at last why no biopsy was being considered, not because of any extensive medical knowledge but because from everyone on here that seems normal.

Maybe the time has come for a few pointed questio
