Hi all...i am about to undergo RALP tomorrow and am petrified. I shall give you my info because at the time it was explained to me,my mind was all over the place...please bear with... Diagnosis; CPG 2 Prostate Adenocarcinoma,T2 N0 Mx Bilateral Adenocacinoma 9/17 cores,Gleason 3+4,with glomeruloid pattern detected, 40% G4,minor<5% pattern 5,LCF 15mm presenting PSA 5.66 MRI (Oct 25):27cc gland.ledt base 4 o'clock asymmetrical signal change.9mm nodular of restricted diffusion. I have since had my PSA recorded as 2.66...i literally haven't a clue what to do? I am not struggling to pee anymore (I can hold it in without leaking) This time last year,I wouldn't have made it to the bathroom. Should i proceed with surgery to remove the prostate?

  • And another thing...im peeing into the bag, they gave me medication to prompt my bowel movements at 19.15,but im scared to go sleep in case I follow through..Joy

    Nah,I'll be fine..PrayPrayPoop

  • Hi  what a great story.  Hope your recovery continues and your PSA goes to nil.

    Best wishes, David

Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.

  • That was great.

I had radiotherapy, but you make surgery sound actually pleasant!

It's great that they got the lot. Onwards and upwards.

    Changed, but not diminished.
  • Rudy, I've just read your posts.  Congrats on your 2 weeks wedding anniversary!

    1. You are so positive and I totally agree with Msteve.  I'm glad your surgery went well.

  • Thank you Steve...to the whole of the team, I cannot fault in any singe way..the NHS has  been good to me and my family whether it be through the birth of a child or the death of a cherished one..they have ALWAYS been there...24/7

  • Thank you so much SteveCam...Two weeks today..my wife..(its my first marriage so ill never get tired of saying that (and her third)) has gone to work and im laid up taking laxido and paracetamol..The pain, or lack of, has been quite reasonable .not needed the big guns yet..finally managed a movement last night after 2 days...felt a bit awkward because of the catheter..but its just R and R and a little bit more R..

  • Rudy, keep a diary of your posts and feelings.  I have kept a 'Thought Diary' for nearly 5 years now, since I was diagnosed.  It catalogues my ups and downs (quite a lot of downs).  My partner came up with the 'Thought Diary' idea.  Once I started I couldn't stop!

It's good to read back at how I was feeling. Just celebrated 4 years in 'Remission' last week.  My PSA had started to rise, little by little, but has now started to go down again to 0.26

Take care, say 'Hi' and congratulations to Mrs Rudy.
