Hi everybody. My first ever psa at the age of 45 of about 3 and increasing, revealed that st was going on. After almost 2 years I had an mri and biopshy. Pirads 4, 3+4  gleason. 3/23 cores positive. Pattern 4 less than 10% out of all positive samples. Tumor of 10mm. Prostate of only 11cc. Two years now I am under AS but  doubling time of 5,5 at the time of biopshy,  is now less than two years. ie In  22 months later it went up to 11,5. Tumor 13,5 mm now...I have to make decisions and may be a new biopshy of course. Dont know yet if I am a good candidate for ire. I am only 49 years old and very sceptical about risks of every method.  Have you tried ire? What were the outcomes for you in 5 years?? Have not the courage yet to do da vinci...

Thank you. Good luck to all

  • Hello

A warm welcome to the group although I am so sorry to find you joining us.

IRE - Nanoknife focal irreversible electroportation - is not usually available on the NHS although I understand it is being trialed in a few areas, most people who have had this type of procedure have paid for it in the private sector. I am aware we have some community members who have had Nanoknife so i hope you get some replies.

From the information you have given - I would have thought any of the standard treatment routes would be open to you - surgery, radiotherapy or brachytherapy.

I hope the above helps - do get back to us and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes - Brian.
