Hi everyone
My husband had a prostatectomy early 2023 (Gleason 7 3+4 and T3a) and remained undetectable until December 2024 when his PSA went from 0.1, 0.2,0.2 to 0.4 within 6 months.
He had 4 weeks of salvage radiotherapy followed by two PSA readings of 0.2. This level is usually when treatment is started (?) but oncology seem happy to wait for an increase from this level.
Has anyone had experience of this situation. Is it common for it to stay stable now?
Many thanks
Hello Fredingtonbf5f6d
Welcome to the group although I am so sorry to find you joining us.
Radiotherapy keeps on working long after you have completed your 20 fractions. The accepted rule of thumb is that you reach your nadir or lowest PSA reading 18 months after Radiotherapy has been completed.
I assume your husband’s team are happy with the PSA results at present as they are stable.
I hope this helps
Best wishes - Brian.
