I had HT / RT treatment at the beginning of last year, and my PSA level at the last test was about 0.5. I had Holep surgery a couple of weeks ago and was wondering if anyone can cast any light on what might happen to my PSA level when I get tested again in December. I was assuming that if half my prostate is gone then the PSA level will reduce by 50%, but I suspect it's not that simple.

I had a chat about HoLEP before my TURP operation and as far as I am aware it removes the inner transitional zone of the prostate but leaves most of the outer layer of the prostate intact. As you still have some of your prostate (50%?) I assume your PSA readings would be that much lower than if you had a full prostate.
I think it is that simple.
