Waiting for oncologist

You have posted before and I think you have lowish stats so 2 weeks should be no problem.

All U have to do now is decide between surgery and Radiotherapy

Chill out if you can when you hear that you are not being put at risk by waiting a couple of weeks.

Prostate cancer is a slow menace not an ultra fast nightmare.

What do you know so far?

you say you’ve seen a consultant but not an oncologist but they are very similar people. The tests are the main issue.

If you’ve had a bone scan a CT scan and bloods you have every thing you need after the diagnostic biopsy. So if you’ve have a diagnosis then we can help you more. But without a biopsy there’s nothing to go on.

locally advanced prostate cancer

CPG 4 (PSA 7.3. T3a NOMO. 3 + 4=7 )

So once broken through the gland edge T3a I always reckon Radiotherapy and HT best, still curable though.

Just my opinion obviously,

That T3 staging is a hard hit giving the low PSA and Gleason results would have giving you much longer to consider your options. I think I would also take the same decision going for RT + ADT.

Even with the most aggressive cancers - Gleason 8 - 10 - there may be months before it spreads enough to truly extend the damage.

At the level you have it usually be longer than that so 2 weeks should be no problem at all.

It is best to discuss this with a Macmillan nurse by calling them on 0808 808 00 00.

Then you can talk to a real expert, and not me.
