Morning everyone I had a meeting with my oncologist and he informed me of the above which surprised me, as it had levelled off at 33 .Does this mean the docetaxel has failed? We are now going to ct scans etc. And a
itch to daralutomide?spelling or enzalutomide .He told me the doubling time was 18 months . . which I believe
isn't to bad.Anyone have a similar experience.
?The previous pet scan showed pelvic lymph nodes only cold it have travelled to a distant site .I am trying to keep positive but I am trying
to make sense of what psa numbers
really mean .
I recieved my oncologist report over the weekend, we got cut off.Psa doubling time 15 months so that's not to bad.ct and bone scan next year he has asked me to have a kidney function test.ive had a nephrectomy, if the cancer has metasticied, triplet treatment next. Is this to ensure I am fit enough for chemotherapy?
PSA is different to read depending on how early or late you are in the treatment process.
At 33 it means there’s a pretty big fight going on that neither the chemo or the cancer is winning. In fact it’s really good news if you’ve had 3 readings the same because that is better pref off the situation. Three readings going up or three readings going down or three reading standing still are all good proof of a trend. Your trend is that there’s a stalemate in the war. Which is brilliant.
Happy Christmas
Hello Big Col (Big Col (fccdc72c17874c01b58022962e550397))
I think all 3 tests are to ensure you are up to the triplet treatment - as it's quite intense and hits the cancer hard.
At the start of my journey my eGFR (Kidney function) was very low and there was quite a bit of talk about starting treatment - you don't want your kidneys failing, but I recovered my function quickly and went ahead with the treatment.
I wish you well moving forward - do keep us posted.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hello Big Col (Big Col (fccdc72c17874c01b58022962e550397))
You will have to wait for the scan results to see what's going on but with the PSA remaining constant you just hope there's no change and it's just the lymph nodes.
Your team look like they know just what they are doing and I would try not to worry - enjoy Christmas and New Year - try not to worry too much.
Best wishes - Brian.
