Hello
my dads had radiotherapy for prostrate cancer which finished in September he’s on hormone treatment and his latest psa was 0.2 so all being well it’s working
but recently he’s become concerned about a bit of bowl leakage
it isn’t all the time , but sometimes he can feel moist and when he wipes there is mess there
he’s quite embarrassed so read up and seems to think he can get tablets for this
there’s never any blood or pain but he’s quite a clean proud man so he’s concerned
Iv made an appt for Monday but just wondered if anyone had had similar issues
sorry a bit graphic
any help would be appreciated
thanks Lesley
I recognise this.
I have the same symptoms, although perhaps slightly less than you outline. Like you I have been looking into the problem.
It seems to me that I should look at my diet first - I eat quite a bit if fibre, so maybe I should eat a little less healthily for a few days!!
Also it seems that the dreaded Pelvic Floor Exercises can help - back to the Squeezy App for me.
If neither of those work then, like you I might head for the GP. I will try everything else first though, because suppositories are not my favourite thing.
I hope your dad gets to grips with his difficulty, because it does seem it is regarded in medical circles as a pretty minor effect.
Steve
Changed, but not diminished.
Hi Steve
thank you very much for the reply
it would seem it’s very likely a result of the radiotherapy. And I shall
pass on your advise and get him to look at his diet
I suppose it’s a small price to pay if it saves lives
thank you wishing you all the best and I hope you find something that helps you too
best wishes

Hi Les lesley I no exactly what your talking about I have the same thing, the thing is I had it well before I had my radiotherapy I've not been to the doctor as it only happens to me if I'm hot I did research it the only thing I found is that the Americans call it swamp arse (true honestly)
