November 10th 2025 face to face meeting with consultant. Psa has dropped to 7. It’s been 3 weeks on ADT, i was worried this wasn’t enough of a drop, but consultant didn’t seem worried. There has been a discussion with other oncologists about including the lymph nodes, to be safe because the biopsy showed the tumour so close to the edge. We decided against including the nodes because of the added toxicity, so he continues prostap and January is his first radiotherapy planning appointment, then 3-4 weeks later EBRT. We’re planing a 2 month trip to Scandinavia in July with our teenagers. It’s keeping us focused. The initial fear has passed and it’s just before a new appointment or blood results that the bad thoughts set back in. But for anyone at the beginning of this journey. It gets better. Greg has no major side effects from prostap, a few hot flushes and I’ve noticed he looks a bit pale and tired, but he said he feels ok.
It sounds like things are settling and moving forwards nicely. The only thing that makes me feel a bit uncomfortable is the nodes and more than one oncologist’s suggesting including them? Of course you are right to think about the toxicity of unnecessary treatment and damage and it’s your carefully thought through decision. I think as an add on it may be worth bringing it up with the radiologist when you have your planning in January as this is their area of expertise, they can also give you some good feedback and a second opinion on what they are seeing. May as well as you are there just to thoroughly tick that box.

Hi worried wife 78 , having something to plan for is great and your trip sounds wonderful. I am of the same opinion as BW that I would want to know what risk if the nodes are excluded. One question I would ask is if the nodes are excluded, can they by zapped later on if a spread is found.
Best wishes, David
