Hi all,
It's a little under 5 months since starting treatment in preparation for radiotherapy to hopefully commence thereafter. 5 months of Prostap injections and 4 cycles of Docetaxel Chemotherapy so far, and although lots of side effects they have been mild and not everyday life effecting at all. PSA is also falling nicely:
5 weeks of Prostap - 1.9
7 weeks - 1.7
12 weeks + 1 cycle of Docetaxel - 0.711
15 weeks + 2 cycles - 0.454
18 weeks + 3 cycles - 0.384 (thought it was about to plateau around this level)
21 weeks + 4 cycles - 0.207
Was very happily surprised with last PSA result, just goes to show how unpredictable this can be, hopefully it goes lower with help from the last 2 cycles of chemo, but my Oncologist also said if it stays there it's already a very favourable position approaching my restaging scans and radiotherapy.
Hopefully this helps someone starting out with similar diagnosis/treatment (info on profile).
Good luck to all
Hello Eikcorb
Thank you for taking the time to post your latest treatment and the results. Not only is the treatment benefiting you, your post will help others understand that Chemotherapy isn't as bad as everyone thinks. I know everyone reacts to it differently but you are doing great.
Long may the low PSA's continue.
Kind Regards - Brian.
