Hello
Hope you are all doing the best you can be️
My question is about hot flushes, Paul has been on degarelix since the beginning of July, tolerating well.....hot flushes are worsening, thankfully so far this is all we have to moan about!
We tried Sage, thanks Millibob , seemed to help in beginning, not making a difference now. Is there anything else people have tried? Higher dose of Sage or anything else herbal? Paul is about to throw Abireratone into the mix so expecting other side effects, just trying to keep on top of it.
Paul is back working full time, he/we are doing well, just returned from Spain and have loads of trips planned️......life is not the worst at the moment despite this diagnosis
Thank you️
I was prescribed the drug featured in the following link as I suffered quite badly with hot flushes
I completed the course two weeks ago but they are still reducing the flushes substantially. It may be worth asking about them if flushes are causing real problems
Best of luck with your journey

Hi Polly1912 . I took Sage capsules and Evening Primrose Oil which are both available from Holland and Barrett. I was lucky that my GP at the time was also a trained Homeopathic practitioner and prescribed Sepia (cuttlefish ink!) which I took roughly every six weeks. If you have an homeopathist in your area it might be worth a try.
You could also get prescription drugs from your GP (Cyproterone Acetate or Provera) but be aware that both of these can cause an increase in HbA1c blood sugar which could push him into Type 2 Diabetes.
Hello All
Just a reminder if you are taking anything not prescribed by either your team or GP - just check with them first (as I did with sage tablets) as you can get a "medication clash"
Best wishes - Brian.
