9 days since CT Scan, Urologist was hopeful that we would have results and a date for biopsies this week, before my partner went on holiday with his son, which is tomorrow.
We ain't shouting about it at the moment, its only 2.5 weeks since diagnosis and he was promptly started on Degarelix, hopefully that will be doing its job and only side effects so far is hot flushes and some fatigue. My partners agonising bone pain has mostly gone, only now has a niggling ache in hip but no longer needs to take pain medication.
I am very aware of the 12 week rule for starting chemo/triplet therapy so will shout louder if this date draws close with little progress. We both work for the NHS and have alot of faith and hope in our treatment plan
We have been overwhelmed with the support offered to us both, from our family, friends, work family and you guys, it really was been amazing......and because of my partners diagnosis, 5 men so far have been to the GP, some with symptoms that they were not aware may be related to PC.
We are adjusting to our new normal, we wont let this get us down, we are very aware that we will not win the war, but we will win many battles along the way!
We are very much living in the moment, planning trips and holidays....embracing each day.
For me, as a partner of someone with PC, I was given some advice recently from someone who has been in my shoes, she said "Paul is in a shit circle at the moment and sometimes he will throw some of that shit out of the circle, you need to make sure you do not throw any of that shit back in!" ......I completely understand that, when he does launch the shit out the circle, which is rare, I just need to take it, walk away if needed, shout, scream, break down, but then just come back and always be there.......I have my supports, we both do, we check in on each other often and we will always be open and honest

Yes, I've been there got the t-shirt - and I came on here and the Community supported me fully. If and when the s--t starts to fly - please do feel free to vent - do it here - better amongst us than family and friends.
