Good news today OH first PSA reading since completing 33 sessions of salvage radiotherapy down to 0.05 - so relieved.  Seeing Oncologist tomorrow to discuss HT as still having problems with feet.

  • Hello

That is good news, and the fact the Radiotherapy keeps on working long after the final fraction so the PSA could get even lower.

I can only think the HT is responsible for his foot condition although it's not listed anywhere in the side effects (that's not to say it's not the cause).

I wish you luck tomorrow at the oncologists and hope you get sorted.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • OH says thank you very much for your kind words.  Will update after tomorrow

  • Oncologist very pleased with PSA at 0.05 and has confirmed OK to stop HT .  Once it's out if his system we will see if the foot issues are resolved as it is having a big impact.   Next PSA scheduled for October .  I asked if stopping the HT would affect the reading - Oncologist said hopefully not.

  • I'm interested to hear how OH gets on with an improvement in his foot issues. I completed HT with a last implant of Prostap 3 in mid October 2024.

I have had some issues with foot pain in my right foot in recent months which I have always put down to arthritis as I broke a bone in that foot many years ago. However it is slightly better in the last few weeks so maybe the HT did have something to do with it. Time will tell.

      please keep us posted.

  • Hi that's very interesting- did you get any swelling as well as pain in your feet?

  • No swelling, just pain walking in the area where the broken bone was. I've not considered it much of a problem, it was just interesting to hear your comments.

Being 76yrs of age I always thought arthritis was the cause and may prove to be so.

  • Hi will let you know how it goes
