Relugolix and hair loss

Hi all,

First the good news.

We have sold our guesthouse at last and will be leaving Morecambe on the 28th July and moving back to Wirral where we came from. Bought a lovely house on a quiet cul de sac.

Time to retire for good and see my days out pottering around the garden.

I was taken off Degeralix injections and put onto relugolix tablets a couple of months ago.

The other day I went for a shower and low and behold, I saw nearly all my body hair had suddenly disappeared. Under arms, chest, back, legs all gone. Other 'bits' thinning fast. Still got a good head of pure white hair though which I hope doesn't fall out.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Chins up and keep fighting.

  • Hi !

Yes, loss of hair on the body is a very common side effect on basically all sorts of hormone therapy.

The hair on top of your head is not that affected for some reason and if you by any chance have hair in your ears and of course your nose that’s not affected either but, yes the rest of your body hair and even a beard can go away, pretty much all of it

  • Hello

Hormone Therapy plays havoc with your body hair - I lost all of mine, chest, under arms, pubic but kept my head hair. I have been off treatment for 8 months and my chest hair is growing back - it was red - it's now black!!

Another one for you - I have a place in Turkey and while we are over there I use my local barber for haircuts and a shave. A year after I had started Hormone therapy the barber asked me if I was "poorly". I said no - just having treatment for Prostate Cancer and he said "I knew it" - "your beard is soft and fluffy and the hairs don't shave properly".

Last fact - most men on Hormone Therapy don't sweat.

Great news about the business-enjoy a long and happy retirement.

    Best wishes - Brian.
