My hubby went for us annual check up and asked about PSA test. Very quickly his results came back as 20. Sent for a MRi and Bone scan. Then biopsy of the prostrate. At his appointments he asked no questions as he wants to wait until all information has been gathered. What can we expect at the results appointment. He has waited just over 3weeks for results . Sadly my father in law died from prostrate cancer
Hi pooh bear1, and a warm welcome to the forum, though I'm so sorry you have to be here, when all results are correlated, which should be very soon now, you are normally given all your results and depending on what they are, a choice of treatments to consider, I'm sorry to hear about your father in law and I can imagine that experience weighs heavily on your thoughts at this time, but treatments for prostate cancer have so much better than jut a few years ago and improving all the time, as is said on the forum 98%of men who get prostate cancer do not die of it. So when it's time to choose the right treatment for you, and you have your statistics, there will be many wonderful people here with similar ones who will be happy to share their experiences, and we're all here to support you both through the ups and downs of your cancer journey

Hello pooh bear1 and welcome from another wife. If your husband is anything like mine he leaves all the questions to me. When he was first diagnosed he disappeared from the consulting room and left me with the consultant to sort everything out - some men are ostriches, others want to engage but we just have to let them assimilate the information at their own pace.
To give you an idea of what the different tests do, but more importantly what the results mean I have attached a link to a book which you can download for free.

You will probably be told that you have a choice of treatments if the results confirm that he has cancer, the difficulty then being which is best for you as a couple. Don't be rushed and ask to speak to both an oncologist and a surgeon if the cancer is contained in the prostate.
You might find it useful to ask if you can record the meeting but also ask for copies of the scan and biopsy reports as they can provide valuable information to help you make decisions on treatment. Don't be afraid to ask questions and make sure you get names and contact details for future reference.
If there is anything you don't understand then the brilliant people on the forum can usually help out so ask any questions.
Hi PB
What you are really looking for is a TNM score which will show any spread. So pref a T2 which would show any cancer still contained in the gland
Easier to treat.
Also a Gleeson score which shows how aggressive, so could be 3+3, 4+3 or more aggressive 4+4 or 5.
Difficult to take it all in but do get printed copies of results because then you can come back on here for more help
Best wishes
Steve
