  1. Hi all.   God this cancer does drive you mad doesn’t it !    I had a bone scan 3 weeks ago.  I seen my care coordinator on Thursday which was 3 weeks to the day.   Had a good chat and while the bone scan wasn’t mentioned she talked about my diagnosis as I discussed with my consultant.   I did mention that my oconolgy app was may 29 and I asked if possibly I had fallen into the system.  She assured me that wasn’t the case.  As all my previous results have been mega rapid (biopsy 3 days ) I sort of thought that maybe nothing had shown up as I’m sure she would have mentioned it or I would have been case.   I might sound mega paranoid but it does play on your mind doesn’t it.    I thought no news is good news but as is the case with this your minds goes into overdrive.      Cheers Everyone.      Simon
  • Hello Simon (

Gleason 7 - PSA 22 - I am expecting the routine bone scan to be clear and the MDT meeting to give you the various options leading to those two "magical words - curative pathway".

The waiting during the diagnostic period can be hard but once you get a treatment plan everything will settle down to the "new normal" and life will get back to normal.

Yes - it can play havoc with your mind but instead of thinking of the bone scan results think of this fact - 98% of men diagnosed with Prostate Cancer die WITH it not OF it.

    Kind Regards - Brian.

  • Hi  , yes waiting is the hardest part, but all your stats are good, so you have no reason to think there is a bigger problem.  My gut feeling is that had the bone scan been bad, your appointment wouldn’t be the end of May.  I would give the team a ring and ask if the scan is clear.  At worst they won’t tell you and at best, you can stop worrying.  David

  • Cheers all.  Sorry but it was a sangria fuelled rant and needed to let off steam.  As always thanks for all the help i receive from this forum.     Cheers

  • Good Morning Simon (

it was a sangria fuelled rant

Stick to draught bitter - it's a natural product and once I have had enough I fall asleep, much better than anxiety and a rant!! GrinInnocent.

  • Haha.   Cheers Brian.   I’m not a bitter drinker unfortunately.    Cider is my tipple of choice     But when in Rome ( or Spain ).  Etc.

  • Oh Dear!!

     Cider is my tipple

There was an old lady from Hyde

She ate 59 apples and died

Inside the lamented the apples fermented

And formed cider inside her inside.

"Take a bow son" - I think I will stick to bitter and giving advice about Prostate cancer.

Enjoy your weekend - I think I will take a constitutional this afternoon to "The Railway" for a medicinal "snifter"

(snifter - informal English word for a small quantity of alcohol). - just in case my diabetic nurse ever reads this!!

    Kind Regards - Brian.
