Hi all. Had bone scan 2 weeks ago. No news yet ( is this good or bad ) Got an app on Thurs with care coordinator so I will ask them The waiting is the hardest part. If worse scenario and it has spread is there a level of spread And is it treatable As you can most probably tell my anxiety with it all can go into overdrive. Thanks as always. Simon
Hello Simon Simon64
Thank you for the post. I think you had plenty of cracking information in this thread:
and as most folk said - there SHOULD be no spread and you should be on a "curative pathway".
The bone scan is routine and depending on your Health Authority the results can take up to 6 weeks to come back.
Personal advice, don't worry about something that hasn't (and may not) happen. if you need any help with your anxiety give me a shout and I will add a few links.
The waiting is the hardest part of the journey, once you have a treatment plan life will revert to the "new normal".
Best wishes - Brian.

Simon, waiting is the hard part, but as Brian has said, there is nothing to indicate that there is a spread. Bone scans are done as a routine. I don’t think the scan will show anything, but IF it did, it’s all very treatable. Some of us have been on this journey for a few years and are still around. Stay positive and good luck when you get the results. David
Hello Simon (Simon64)
The diagnostic period and the waiting for a treatment plan is the hardest part of this journey (apart from the biopsy ) Once all that is sorted and you are good to go life gets back to normal.
i notice from your results letter you are only "down the road" from me as i am based in Oldham - if you want a 1-1 chat about anything or just a bit of re-assurance my message box is open to private messages. (don't put any personal details on the thread).
Kind Regards - Brian.

Hi Simon64 - don’t get hung up on the PSA rise from 19 to 22 in a short time. The first one was a home test and the second in an NHS lab. Different labs give different results : it could have easily been 22 down to 19. The bone scan? It would be exceptionally rare if, with your stats, it is positive- so try not to worry. Put some gentle polite pressure on to get the result (email the department dealing with your case and say it’s affecting your sleep- which it probably is). You’re heading for a curative pathway in my opinion. You just need to get there and then things will calm down. AW
