Hi
Welcome to this forum, as many will say,a club nobody wants to belong in.I feel like a newby too and I know there will be many much more experienced people who will reply to you.
We started our journey in October and I reached out out on here, feeling as you described and better for doing so.
Like you I was hoovering up any info I could find and feeling our lives had just stopped, whilst my lovely OH wanted to "wait to hear more".
The first & most helpful thing I learned from here is we are not alone and there is so much hope and optimism, treatment and help offered. After the shock and tears subside for a while and you have more information from the consultant and a plan of treatment one begins to feel a little more control.
This is a roller coaster and we still have our tearful times,we saw an early pattern,it built up for a few days, one of us would say and then we would both have a cry & feel better. I believe one of the most important things is to be open & talk to each other if possible.
My husband is having hormone & chemo treatment at the moment and is doing very well. He is 78yrs. Currently mowing the lawns!
Hope this has helped.
Sue
