Hi everybody !

I would like to share the fantastic news that I today have had my 1 year / 12 month after my final radiation and the results came back with < 0.1 again. Like I’ve said in previous post, Sweden normally only measure down to < 0.1 and don’t offer uPSA

So, my first year of remission and I wanted to share this good news because I know most of us likes reading good news.

Best wishes Ulf

  • Great news Ulf and I hope you have got the cancer on the run for good.

  • Fantastic news Ulf

I wish you well and I hope it remains undetectable.

    Best wishes - Brian.

    Changed, but not diminished.
  • Ulf ( ), that is great and anyone with Gleason 7 or T3bN1M0 should get real encouragement after reading your bio (just click on  ).  Thanks for letting us know.  David

  • Thanks Brian !

I’ve been meaning to ask you. From what I understand you had 20 fractions of Hypofractionated IMRT (the Hypofractionation I guess because you had 20 fraction). In the 20 fractions, did they do whole pelvic radiation therapy as well (WPRT)?

I’ve seen your struggle with the PSA and if things come to worse i still believe you have tools available for a salvage treatment, like Brachy if needed or SBRT for that matter IF the PSA don’t drop.

Well, holding my fingers and toes crossed that the PSA is only having hickups and settles down Slight smileMuscle

Thanks my friend and best wishes - Ulf

  • Good Morning Ulf (

I had 20 fractions of VMAT (Volumetric  Modulated Arc Therapy)  which covered both the Prostate and the Pelvic Lymph Nodes.

At the time of my meeting with the oncologist in December 2022 she confirmed that there was no spread to my bones and indeed the pelvic radiotherapy was as a precaution because of my high initial PSA.

She also told me at the time she would try 3 years HT with a "curative intent" but the cancer had a high chance of coming back.

During the 3 years HT i could never get my PSA below 0.29 and to be honest when my HT stopped my testosterone came back very quickly Innocent.

With an initial PSA of 182 i have always been aware further investigation and treatment was on the cards so I am not worried what may follow - more interested than worried.

I live just outside Manchester si I am under The Christie which is a cancer only specialist hospital and my consultant is one of the top ones.

Thank you for your support, it's very much appreciated.

    Kind Regards - Brian.
