And finally Qu: are LHRH Analogues....enzalutomide and that group of 2nd generation hormone therapy?
No Big Col. They are the injections Goserelin, Leuprorelin or Triptorelin. I have attached an information sheet for you but basically they act by stopping the testicles from producing testosterone. Before starting most of them it is usual to be given an initial course of Bicalutamide tablets (an anti androgen drug) for a few days to reduce the initial testosterone flare which can happen when you are first given the injection/implant. Bicalutamide is a first generation antiandrogen whereas things like Enzalutamide work in a similar way but a lot stronger.
Thanks the fog is lifting I'm already on bicalutomide and he has already told me I can't have prostap injections again as they probably won't fund them.
