Cialis is a well known medication for erectile dysfunction. Its less well known that there is some evidence that it can help with urinary symptoms such as difficulty voiding and associated lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS).
I've been on Tamulosin for decades and recently my symptoms started to get worse.
I asked my GP to prescribe the daily 5mg Cialis tablet to go alongside my Tamulosin.
This appears to have improved my LUTS problems a little and has also helped with my ED.
I am on long term hormone therapy and nothing much has been stirring down below for quite a while now !
After starting with Cialis I have had a couple of natural erections and the improved blood flow to my penis is helping with the progressive atrophy that can be associated with long term hormone therapy. (I am also using a vacuum pump.)
Hope this experience is useful and helps others in a similar situation.
I tried a pump with the rubber bands - no improvement at all and I discarded the whole idea when the band fell off my penis when I extracted it from. the pump. Next I tried Viagra which did nothing at all. I've not had an erection for nearly 30 months now, and although I would like to naturally get one, there's just nothing there at all - it's just as if the radiation and Zoladex have killed off the desire.
Sorry to hear that. May be worth discussing Cialis with a healthcare professional as it works differently to Viagra. Cialis stays in your body for around 36 hours (Viagra is expelled in a few hours) so if you use the 5mg daily dose its effect is 24/7.
This suits me better than having to plan when to take a drug with a short term effect such as Viagra.
Good Luck Sandberg
That’s a really helpful experience you’ve shared. Cialis 5mg daily is indeed often used for both ED and LUTS, and combining it with Tamsulosin can make a noticeable difference for many men. One thing I’d suggest is to keep monitoring your blood pressure, since using both can sometimes cause dizziness or lightheadedness. Also, consistency is key with Cialis - it usually works better over time, so sticking with it and combining it with your vacuum pump sounds like a solid strategy.
