Well, that was quick. I chased the medical oncologist (Greek God) up this morning and he has had a pow wow with the radio oncologist, so I was told to speak to him as they both thought hubby was eligible for SBRT on the distant mets. Did this at lunchtime and was asked when we would like it done. Whenever we replied. Got a text at 17:30 to ask if we are available TOMORROW  at 15:50 for the planning scan and can we take the PSMA PET scan disc. So all set for treatment starting next week. Having to sort out an apartment near the hospital for a couple of weeks as he predicts it will be 5 sessions on alternate week days.

  • Hi  .

The nausea has almost gone and he is kept supplied with little snacks, with ginger, which keeps it at bay, plus Mango and Ginger tea.

Cheek of it  . Ladies do not belch or f***t. We just top or bottom burp. It 's hubby anyway.

I agree, a plant for the garden lasts a lot longer and gives more pleasure.

  • Hi Daphna, I had same issues as Jacob with peeing after RT, though unlikely to be an infection it's good to check his urine looks and smell  ok regularly. As AH says drink lots of water and if he finds he can't pee go straight to A+E, though i'm sure plenty of water will do the job, cest wishes to you both.

  • That's the phrase I couldn't remember "bottom burp"

The mango and ginger tea sounds nice.  I prefer lemon and ginger.

  • Thank you Eddie. Jacob seems better and I now connected him to the tap. His urine coming out almost normal so I think and hope panic over. The oncology nurse called and asked him lots of questions and says just to keep an eye on it.

  • Hi again Daphna, I think L was suggesting a new post about Jacobs RT journey, many of us would be very interested as I'm sure some of us may be having the same treatment at some time.

  • Or were you thinking of the computer mat  .

That wasn't a F***t, that was my bottom giving you a kiss!!!! Kissing heart

  • Here we are 2 weeks after the SBRT. Hubby has come on in leaps and bounds, and would do so if he could. He is looking and feeling much better plus the appetite is almost back to normal - he thoroughly enjoyed his ice cream treat this morning. The tummy is still a bit tender but the bloat is disappearing. Fatigue is still an issue but he is working through it by planting up the veg patch and getting the watering system set up.

  • Hi AH,

Wonderful news! Well done both of you!! This is really great to know for all of us.

    Lots of love

  • Glad to see your hubby is improving.  I can imagine his tummy still a bit tender.  The nice weather will be good for his recovery and especially his fatigue.

  • Great excitement in the household. Hubby has just come out of the loo in high spirits. For the first time in about three years he is able to see his little man when he sits down - even though it has shrunk thanks to the hormone therapy.  We are due to see the oncologist on Wednesday for the 3 monthly Prostap injection -I do not know what he is going to say because the smiley face round the belly button, thanks to the radiologists, will not come off no matter how much we scrub. All the other markers went within a couple of days but this one must have been put on with an indelible marker. The bloated tummy is definitely shrinking and belts are having to be moved in a notch, plus he can put his socks on easily now. Hopefully it is a sign that the SBRT is shrinking the abdominal mets.
