Well, that was quick. I chased the medical oncologist (Greek God) up this morning and he has had a pow wow with the radio oncologist, so I was told to speak to him as they both thought hubby was eligible for SBRT on the distant mets. Did this at lunchtime and was asked when we would like it done. Whenever we replied. Got a text at 17:30 to ask if we are available TOMORROW at 15:50 for the planning scan and can we take the PSMA PET scan disc. So all set for treatment starting next week. Having to sort out an apartment near the hospital for a couple of weeks as he predicts it will be 5 sessions on alternate week days.
July 20th 1969. I was 14 so allowed to stay up. All Systems Go was the command when everything was ready for lift off. Correct with FAB. I'm another who used to hide behind the sofa with Dr Who when first aired in 1963 in black and white.
Yes I was also 14 in July 1969. I thought Dr Who was real but it did scare the pants of me. The BBC showed the first episode the other week and wow - how I was fooled by that dodgy scenery. I knew I was safe from the Daleks - all I had to do was to run upstairs!!

Love Dr Who. We are in the middle of watching all the episodes from the very beginning which are available on ITV X. Just got up to Colin Baker (not one of my favourites). What's amazing is seeing some well known actors in what must have been very early roles for them.
Always wanted my own K9 so he could zap people I didn't like (no one on this site mind you).
Well I hate to say it, but I'm quite excited that your husbands going for some excellent treatment and that you are also having a little break as well in a holiday home. All sounds rather fun, though obviously I hope it all goes well for you both and he has a very successful Zapping! What I want to hear next is "Guess what!!, It's been a great success"

Hi AH
Just saw your post. Excellent plan!
Wish you both the very best and great success with the zapping.
Lots of love

Just had a lovely grilled fish and salad for lunch at a favourite restaurant looking at the view on my avatar.
Hubby is getting anxious, but also excited for Monday. I have sorted out the menus for the duration and have prepared some of the meals and soups to make life easier whilst we are in our 'holiday home'.
For those who are going to have SBRT I will add bits of information and chart hubbies journey. The first difference from when he had the EBRT was that his upper torso was held in a cradle on the 'sunbed'. A belt was then hooked round his abdomen to the bed. A flat plate was placed on top and screwed down to a level he felt he was going to be able to cope with for 20 minutes (a bit like being in a boo
Gremlins in the works. I will continue - it was like being in a book press. Definitely not something he should do on a full stomach so a good job his slot is at 17:45 every day and he is grateful that he does not have to have a full bladder. The only thing he didn't like was the oral contrast which he had to have 15 minutes before second planning scan - tasted like ouzo and upset his stomach for 24 hours so hope he only has to have it the once. This was to highlight the stomach and upper guts so that they can be avoided.
He had a session with the osteopath yesterday who appreciated the smiley face around his belly button but didn't think the tattoos were very artistic.
Hi AH
Great that you settled in and making the best out of it! I have to learn from you how to turn any situation to a lovely experience and to hold to this wonderful strong sense of optimism. Saying that Jacob was just calling form downstairs saying look through the window towards the sea and there it was the most amazing rainbow I ever seen. Just when I typed the word optimism.
Of course your hubby is getting a bit anxious, it is normal. But he has you by his side.
Cross fingers and everything for Monday.
All my love
Dafna
Hi AH
I must say I'm looking forwards to full step by step feed back from you. When my partner had RT he was rocked and tilted all over the place with the machine moving around him like the "Jo 90 theme" apparently. ( this I did not see, but the image is now ingrained in my head with the theme music) are you saying with SBRT you are static with plates holding you steady? More direct target? Big day tomorrow!!
Sending you both best wishes and positive vibes xx
