Well, that was quick. I chased the medical oncologist (Greek God) up this morning and he has had a pow wow with the radio oncologist, so I was told to speak to him as they both thought hubby was eligible for SBRT on the distant mets. Did this at lunchtime and was asked when we would like it done. Whenever we replied. Got a text at 17:30 to ask if we are available TOMORROW at 15:50 for the planning scan and can we take the PSMA PET scan disc. So all set for treatment starting next week. Having to sort out an apartment near the hospital for a couple of weeks as he predicts it will be 5 sessions on alternate week days.
You are both such warriors. Trojan warriors. AW
Huge hugs to you both and bet your glad to get home to your own bed . Hope he can make you a nice cocktail while you’re working on the olive tree.
take care
Liz & OH
A nice Jura is my preference but he is good at getting me a cup of tea.
I have organised help with the olive trees and hedges so my main duties will be to direct operations and keep the men fed and watered.
Hubby wants to come off the morphine patches now as he is having weird and frightening dreams but yes, there is nothing like your own bed.
It's good to hear that your OH is back walking and hope you are OK.
Big hugs.
Good morning all. Prostate cancer - the gift that keeps giving as Brian says. Hubby was having difficulty breathing over the weekend so down to the doctor yesterday morning who did a load of bloods. The embolism marker came back high in the evening so doctor phoned and said to get to the hospital. Pulmonary embolism confirmed on scans so pumped full of drugs and sent home with prescriptions after 4 hours. No waiting in A&E to be seen, straight in for triage and then onto a ward whilst waiting for initial test results, then scans. This was under the GREEK NHS.
Apart from that the pain levels have definitely gone down thanks to the radiotherapy for bone mets.
Morning AH,
I am looking at the half full. The level of pain gone down and the Greek NHS!
Holding your hand from here and giving you both lots of hugs.
Lots of love
Dafna
The Greek NHS sounds fantastic! I hope your husband gets better soon! We had an outpatient appointment last week and the dr we saw was from Crete! We can come across Greek gods too :) I asked him what he thinks to our NHS. I think he misunderstood because he said there was too much rain! Don’t forget to look after yourself, too!! X
Good morning AH,
hope your husband is feeling better with the medication he’s been given as it’s scary stuff when your struggling to breathe. You are certainly getting excellent treatment under the Greek NHS.
huge hugs to you both
best wishes
Liz & OH xx
Good Morning Alwayshope
Sorry to read your husband has had some issued but great news that he's been "fixed" and he's back home. Let's hope as it's coming to spring and starting to warm up he improves now the pain levels have reduced and he's getting back to the "old normal".
Well done to the Greek NHS -
Kind Regards - Brian.

I am a Macmillan volunteer.
I am very glad that the pain levels have reduced, and that he was treated so well by the Greek Health Service.
A pulmonary embolism is a scary thing, and to see it treated so quickly and effectively is great.
Hopefully the problem is resolved now, and you can go back to enjoying your home
Steve
Changed, but not diminished.
Alwayshope it was just before Christmas 2017 when I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Embolism in both lungs. I was kept in hospital over the Christmas.
They started me on Apixiban Blood thinners straight away, then after a a few days onto the injections.
They showed me how to do them properly, but after a few weeks I ran out of places inject. I was purple and yellow with bruises.
After a month on the injections they changed me to Apixiban tablets, had to go on double dosage because of all the other medication I was on.
On them permanently now, hope your OH doesn't need that.
My blood now is like watered down Ribena!
Take Care
