Well, that was quick. I chased the medical oncologist (Greek God) up this morning and he has had a pow wow with the radio oncologist, so I was told to speak to him as they both thought hubby was eligible for SBRT on the distant mets. Did this at lunchtime and was asked when we would like it done. Whenever we replied. Got a text at 17:30 to ask if we are available TOMORROW  at 15:50 for the planning scan and can we take the PSMA PET scan disc. So all set for treatment starting next week. Having to sort out an apartment near the hospital for a couple of weeks as he predicts it will be 5 sessions on alternate week days.

  • Hi AH & Hubby - Stay strong and focused - radiotherapy technology is amazing, and you have a great team of specialists around you.  Keep the faith.   AW

  • He's in good hands - and the next fraction is Wednesday so a day off tomorrow.. I bet he's been in tougher scrapes than this and I am sure if you confirm the importance of the treatment, he will stick wit it.

To quote AW "keep the faith" - and he's so right.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Sorry to hear that he is feeling rough. Have they prescribed any antiemetics for him? Hope so! I hope he has a good night . Thinking of you both x

  • Thanks everyone. No antiemetics but I will ask on Wednesday. Vomiting has eased off considerably and he is beginning to feel a bit better. He has had no food since breakfast so I will try and get it into him tomorrow but was warned to keep it bland and soft - I can see a problem with constipation so another question for Wednesday.

It was a different machine to the one he was on for the EBRT. The 'sunbed' and he remained perfectly still, the robotic arms did all the moving. Interestingly a psychologist was in with the radio oncologist when we saw him after treatment - why, I haven't got a clue.

  • Awww poor thing feeling sick is horrible and 10 lymph nodes is huge. It sounds full on. Tell him we are thinking about him and wishing him well. And you AH, keep strong x.

  • Hello Alwayshope glad to hear hubby is feeling a little better, that's a lot of radiation for anyone to cope with, just think what it's doing to those bas---d cancer cells, take care, both of you

  • Morning AH

Is hubby better this morning? Is it one over and 3 more? As AW said just stay strong and you will get there.

    Lots of hugs

  • Hi Dafna.

Definitely feeling better this morning so it will be little and often with the food plus plenty of fluids. We brought his seat walker with us and he fancies going out for a stroll. We have a couple of shopping malls near the 'holiday home' (which is lovely) so will have a cup of tea out and watch the world go by. I might park him for half an hour and have a little retail therapy.

It is one down and 4 to go so intend getting home on the 18th.

It's a good job Mrs Millibob doesn't read these threads or I would end up in a retail complex car park myself!

You are in one of the cultural centres of the world and you are going shopping - shame on you!!Rofl

  • Hi AH,

Its brilliant hubby feeling much better. Don't mind Millibob, there is nothing like retail therapy to make us ladies feel better. Have a lovely day!

    Lots of love
