Well, that was quick. I chased the medical oncologist (Greek God) up this morning and he has had a pow wow with the radio oncologist, so I was told to speak to him as they both thought hubby was eligible for SBRT on the distant mets. Did this at lunchtime and was asked when we would like it done. Whenever we replied. Got a text at 17:30 to ask if we are available TOMORROW  at 15:50 for the planning scan and can we take the PSMA PET scan disc. So all set for treatment starting next week. Having to sort out an apartment near the hospital for a couple of weeks as he predicts it will be 5 sessions on alternate week days.

  • Just an update. Hubby saw his cardiologist on Monday and all is fine, no damage to the heart from the embolism. He recommended seeing a vascular surgeon just to double check that there was no residual clot in the lower body and that was done today - again good news that all is clear but he is not happy with the anticoagulants prescribed by the hospital because of the CKD and has changed hubby over to Apixaban so thanks again  . The cardiologist and he consulted whilst we were in the consulting room this morning and decided how things will be monitored but also agreed that hubby will probably be on the anticoagulants for life. Bloods next week and then decision by the GG if chemotherapy to start.

  • Linda, sounds like good news.  Onward and upward.  Good luck next week. David

    Best wishes, David

Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.

  • Good news Linda and delighted things have settled down . Hopefully your husband can get started on the chemo once he’s seen next week .

    sending hugs to you both

  • Hello

Well all looks good (better than the weather in Turkey). Everything is positive and you know just where you stand. Good luck with the bloods next week.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Brian  we had rain and a bit thunder here.  A well deserved day on the balcony escaping the weather.

Back to sunshine tomorrow, but down to 17°C, then starting to get warmer again... allegedly!!!

Just saw BBC weather, they said snow in parts of Turkey.

I know I had snow in Istanbul in a November before, sandwiched between sunshine.

  • We are NW of you and had a lovely sunny day, but rain yesterday. We have mountains behind us and they had a new covering of snow on our drive into town today. A cold night is forecast and then warming up again for the weekend which will hopefully be heading your way.

  • Great to hear the good news!!
