Well, that was quick. I chased the medical oncologist (Greek God) up this morning and he has had a pow wow with the radio oncologist, so I was told to speak to him as they both thought hubby was eligible for SBRT on the distant mets. Did this at lunchtime and was asked when we would like it done. Whenever we replied. Got a text at 17:30 to ask if we are available TOMORROW  at 15:50 for the planning scan and can we take the PSMA PET scan disc. So all set for treatment starting next week. Having to sort out an apartment near the hospital for a couple of weeks as he predicts it will be 5 sessions on alternate week days.

  • Keep plodding on, Brian! I’m afraid it’s all we can do despite the side effects. 3 years sounds a very harsh ‘sentence’ - can you get time off for ‘good behaviour’? My absolute thoughts go out to those who know the ht is for ever. That’s a tough one and I really hope they come up soon with better alternatives. Love and hugs to you, Brian, and one and all

  • Take it easy at the 'fat club's today and look forward to your next holiday.

    Lots of hugs.

  • Hi WW

I hope you are much better today!

We both, Jacob and myself look at the HT a bit different. We know that when it will stop working that's is when our time really up. We know there are other tools but this is the safest one and the strong working one. So with all its side effects, we are happy to be on it for ever and ever. Jacob does not hate it, he just hope it will keep working.

As Eddie said, do something nice for yourself today!

    Lots of love

  • Hi Brian if i have offended you in any way i apologise, it was not my intent, I understand how a cancer diagnosis and the treatments that follow impact you physically and emotionally and admire and respect everyone on this journey, especially the ones who give something back which puts you near the top of the tree on my list of cancer heroes.

  • Hi Dafna,

Not sure I agree with  ‘We know that when it will stop working that's is when our time really up’.

There are already lots of tools in the toolbox and by the time Jacob starts to get hormone resistant - who knows!  We all need hope.

Glad you are doing so well.  Best wishes, David.

    Best wishes, David

Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.

  • Eddie,  not sure you can offend an accountant.  It’s not tax deductible Wink

He’s probably just crying somewhere.  Blame the HT.  David

    Best wishes, David

  • Hi David,

Thank you! I appreciate your reply and most time I try to be optimistic. Jacob is very strong mentally and physically but even with him I can see how he become so fatigue come late afternoon.

Best wishes from both of us

    Dafna

  • Hi  and

No I am not offended - more than anything these last 2 weeks (I am over it now) have been hard going on the old HT front.

I said at the bottom of the post "it's a good job I can see the funny side of it"  and no my post was intended to be quite funny but on reading it perhaps not.

Doing what I do for a living I do have to put up with "crap" from my clients. The latest last week was:

"What do you mean, I can't claim £ 5400 for a hot tub - I need to relax after a stressful day"

Yes - I need to relax - so I come on here!!

Hey - Thanks for the support you two give across the Community - It's not gone unnoticed and it's very much appreciated.

    Kindest Regards - Brian.

  • Eddie, can't remember her name now, it was over 2 years ago.  She also did a group session with the P.C. support group which everyone enjoyed.

  • Revenge is sweet. Had a lovely morning out and got my lacy bits. On the way back to the 'holiday home' hubby said - I haven't got the key, I think I left it in the back of the door. It's the first time I haven't taken control of it so I made him sort it out, after I had had a hissy fit. Two hours later and we were let in so I packed him off to bed for his afternoon nap and went out to buy another set of lacy bits on his credit card.
