Hi All,

First two months of HT treatment, husband PSA an testosterone dropped nicely and today it went up a little instead of carry on dropping. This is only the start of journey for us so I expected further falls and not upwards ( even little, testosterone from 1 to 2 and PSA from 0.52 to 0.54) I know it is not much increase but the direction is not the right one.

Anyone experience similar issue at the start of the journey ( 3 months)

  • Good news and not so good news from the MRI's. No change to the mid and lower abdomen areas and remaining stable. Lymph nodes in upper abdomen increased in size plus nodular thickening of adrenal gland again. No abdominal fluid. We have been here before so will see what the Greek God says next week.

  • I hope the ‘Greek God’ can wave a magic wand for you both :)

  • Hi Ah,

Your medical service turnaround putting our NHS to shame. I wish the issue will be solved next week with your Greek God.

    Have a relaxed weekend!

  • Just having a follow up as just been to see the consultant. These are the questions and answers, asked which we have discussed here and on other posts,  there's also a bit more, but I wrote it all on my profile as I just can't post. I have to wonder sometimes if our consultant is a tad bonkers.

Questions, = Is it harder to keep testosterone low if you are younger man?... A. = No (tiny % thats not worth talking about) Has PSA hit "Nadir" after RT ?...= Yes looks like it. Anything under .1 is Zero  so nothing to worry about if it bounces about and will have a PET scan if it goes over the .1  to take a look at whats happening and if they find anything it will be targeted with RT.  Where is the fatigue coming from Abiraterone?... No. the Zoladex injection. Do the steroids and the amount taken affect the PSA? ...No.

    Quite a good appointment really.

  • Here is a little article which puts some numbers on the rest of your conversation, so no he is not bonkers.

  • Hi AH,

It makes sense really, it has to be up there with leading a healthy lifestyle, eating well and exercise. He was saying everyman has a 20% risk of PC before they've even done anything.

    Yes maybe not bonkers.

Hope it goes well for you Friday

  • Not bonkers. Just advocating bonking, but if it can make such a difference why is it not part of the education system on sex and health.

  • AH,

It's one of those things that no one like s to talk about I guess, yet a very important thing about mens health. Everything is about money and statistics,  it brings us back to better and earlier screening and why aren't men tested earlier?. We also had a conversation about how GP's lean towards promoting Statins and high blood pressure tablets, like the Covid vaccine Dr's get an extra monetary fee from the drug companies every time someone has them apparently. he always has some interesting chat.

Early bird AH, I don't think we ever sleep.x
