  • Hello   A warm welcome to the online Prostate Cancer Community

I am sorry to say I can't answer the question about Chemotherapy - but I am sure others will be along to give you some answers about that point.

Speaking from a personal point of view I know that Hormone Therapy can cause personality changes. I have been on HT for 2 years and in that time I have had possibly "6/7 dark days" where I have not been myself - yesterday was one where I confessed on here I was feeling "low" - but for me it's only been a day and I am fine now.

Other Community members will be along to throw some light on your question - I do hope you get some answers.

    My best wishes - Brian.

  • hey

the chemo ain't nice and it does strange things to your body !

the personality thing will be the hormone therapy

ask for help macmillan are they to support partners as well as patients .

adding bi polar into the mix will add some unknowns !!

one thing i have learned after 5 yrs with cancer is u need to be positive

whatever it throws at you u can beat this as a team

  • Hello   I was chatting about your issues with another Community Champ (I have only been in post 4 months so not as experienced as all!!) and the following may help:

    * As he's your partner and you are already a member of the Carers only forum  forum have you posed the question on that forum?

    * Have you posed the question to your partners GP who will be aware of his medication regime and any possible medication clash?

    * As  has suggested. Give our helpline on 0808 808 00 00 (8am to 8pm 7 days a week) a ring - They will be able to provide that little bit of extra help.

    Best wishes - Brian.
