Halving Abiraterone dose

Not exactly doing only 500 mg. It’s however more common to do 250 mg together with light breakfast and still have the same efficacy. But there are probably studies and trials showing probable efficacy only doing 500 mg as well.

I was on 2 x 250mg pills from the start and all thru the 14 months of a trial I was on.

Sounds like you are back down to a normal dose to me - but I’d ask the clinician just so you hear it from the horses mouth.

I have been on 500mg of abiraterone with 5mg of prednisone  for 4.5 years with no problems, A word of caution always take the pred forgot one day felt really bad

I have seen a study, which I now can't find, that suggests that halving the dose taken with a low fat breakfast seems to achieve the same effect as the full dose taken on an empty stomach.

You might want to ask your team for their rationale, as it could be something you might benefit from.

Certainly, if I were in that position I would want to know why this was being recommended to me.
