I just want to share our news from our hospital appointment today, especially for anyone going down a similar treatment path as us. Husband PSA on diagnosis was 59.9 with spread to his spine and pelvis. He is on triple therapy with his last of 6 chemo sessions on Friday. The doctor we saw today said his PSA is virtually undetectable and the treatment has and is working and is treatable for many years. Hubbie had had virtually no side effects from the chemo so if this is ahead of you just remember that not everyone has bad side effects. Luckily we have sailed through it ( I do like my cruises) lol. So life can carry on like it did before he was diagnosed and I feel the cloud we have had since April has finally been lifted. Once again thank you to everyone on here who has got us through the last few months. X I could have kissed the doctor but thought I had better not especially as we were both wearing masks
Hey Shar - that's the best news you could have for both of you and I am well pleased.
We have been through some tough times and it's been a hard journey but you have been a great help to your husband by having that fighting spirit. You have hounded the NHS like a dog with a bone and fought his corner for him when it was needed.
Anyone reading your posts will have been inspired by your attitude to this cancer and it wasn't going to get the better of you.
Well done and enjoy the next few cruises you have booked.
Best wishes for the future - Brian xx

What great news if Prostate cancer reponds to treatment many men live healthily for many years and some are cured .I was diagnosed in 2016 had my prostate removed in 2020 but needed satvage RT and am on Enzalutimide and hormone therapy my PSA was undetectable three weeks after starting Enzalutimide and has been for 3 and half years since and I hope to remain that way for many more .Its such a relief the feeling is wonderful the treatment is not without side effects but nothing i cant handle .There are many new treatments in the pipeline so there is a lot to feel positive about thank you for sharing your good news !
Shar, we have travelled this chemotherapy journey together and got through with flying colours. There are a few more following close on our heels and hopefully they will have as good an outcome. All the best to you both and long may it continue.
