Hi guys

weird question but has anyone on here got Spinal Cord compression?

If so how long have you had it and how do you cope?

Big love to all xx

  • I have had spinal compression for a very, very long time. Initially 14 weeks off work and lots of serious painkillers. Year of physiotherapy, and just about every other treatment including chiropracter and accupuncture. Soaking in a high density hot bath in hospital was the best. Had an infra red lamp for hot and bag of frozen peas in a towel for cold, put it on the spot until you can't stand it any more...
Paracetemol and tramadol for medicine and just keep moving. Does it get better? Not really except the brain learns to ignore it after a while, a bit like how morphine works if you have ever had it. I don't know now, but I suspect that it is still the same that they will not consider operating unless you are unable to walk.
So try everything, some things help, some not so much, nag your doctor and go for a walk.
In case you wonder it has been 40 years this year, I am fine and have learnt to live with it as just another part of life. Along with the PC and the triple bypass Smile

  • Hi Putrisoft

Thank you SO much for your reassuring post!

Ive been so very very worried.

Hubby had immediate radiotherapy to target the SCC from bone met and on steroids . He’s like a different man after the RT

I hope your journey continues without pain

    Many blessings xx
