I am awaiting my radiotherapy and have had my first 3mth hormone injection... I was given Adcal-D3
After taking these for a couple of months I now find out not supposed to take within 2 hrs of food.. But I havent been keeping to that... will it be very important? Two a day.. I miss now and then.. not too often.. should I take 3 next day to keep the dose up or just a miss ?
Thanks :)
Excellent info thanks... I hope it runs that smooth.. I am self employed and am hoping to carry on through treatment but do realise that might need a lot of luck in the way I react... I can see from other posts it can be quite extreme.. Work has got me through the last couple of months simple to keep my mind occupied.. I only do part time and can set my own hrs for the most part ... I was wondering about weight loss so you answered before I asked thanks :)
I worry that as my cancer has burst out of the prostate and in the tubes (but not spread to other parts) if its going to be haarder job to get rid of it all.. and will it only be 4 weeks.. if mines at stage 3 and a lot of it why only 4 weeks... others have been 6 weeks etc
Reading back I seem to be a bit self self.. I do appreciate everyone is in the same boat and I do thank everyone for replying :)
I am a T3a and my oncologist said the RT would be to the prostate and lymph nodes "with a view to being curative".
I spoke to both the Radiologist at the planning scan and at the meeting with the oncologist asking the same question - will it catch all the cancer cells. The answer was - yes that's the intention.
Try not to worry - I know it's a hard one but at the end of the day you are in good hands- I found all the medical team to be great and very "in the know" - don't forget they do this every day and the radiotherapy team were great with me.
Honest opinion - I feel amazing, I am Self Employed and at 67 still put in a 40/50 hour week and am relishing life at the moment. If it would help sent me a friend request and If you wish to have a chat on the 'phone to allay your fears that's fine by me.
Kind regards - Brian.
