Hi I was wondering does anyone know the strength of the radiation that was used in their treatment? Is there a consistent rate applied or does it vary on the size of the tumour? Rather like Pierrepoint measuring his victims dependent on their height and weight?
I've no idea. I've just had radiotherapy to 2 tumours even though I'm Stage 4 and castration resistant. So far side effects have been manageable '
Hi Rens
it does depend on quite a few different factors including number of treatment days which are normally 20 days or 37 days.
I think it does vary from 55 GY to 75 GY but it is usually tailored to your precise circumstances
Steve
Hi Rens. I agree with Steve. I am T3a N0 M0 Gleason 5+4=9. My RT plan was 20 fractions of radical radiotherapy at 60Gy to the Prostate and Nodes.
I was given the figures both before and after RT. I hope this helps.
Brian.
