Has anyone here had a PIRAD 4 on the MRI that turned out not to be cancer?

  • Hi Bof

U may get someone posting but generally P4/5 means a reasonable chance it is cancer obviously 5 more so.

You need a biopsy to confirm.

Always the possibility it's not though, a lowish PSA may indicate that.

Worth finding out what the MRI says IE is it contained in the gland and size because that can indicate if curable which hopefully it is , if it is cancer.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • My MRI showed 2 PIRADS 5 lesions, both with extracapsular extension. Also bilateral involvement of the seminal vesicles. PSA was 6.05. Post surgery pathology showed no seminal vesicle involvement,  no extracapsular extension and negative margins.  But did have 3+4=7. Tumor involved 10% of the prostate. 20% of tumor was pattern 4.

Not what you were asking for but plenty about my MRI was incorrect.

  • I had a pirad of 3, but with family history was sent for a biopsy which confirmed PC.

  • I was 4 and tbh if you are 4 you have a high risk of PC. I had 1.8cm lesions on the anterior which were cancerous, confirmed by biopsy.
