My Urological telephone consultation came in yesterday. Quote ... "There are virtually no suspicious areas that would guide our needle to obtain a meaningful sample"  Action to be taken regular PSA tests with repeat scan if those results merit. I am unsure what "virtually" means in this context? Next PSA in three months. I must admit these results ere unexpected given both my Father and brother both had PC. Both passed away.

  • hi Pegman

Sounds like good news, presume that was results for MRi. What prompted that, rising PSA?

Either way, good  result  and just a question of monitoring for now.

  • What prompted that, rising PSA?

PSA 5.25 rising to 8.35 in a two month period !

  • That is a bit of a jump, do u have any other PSA previous figures.

Have u seen what the MRI report says, could be worth getting hold of a copy

  • 3.15 PSA on 13th May 2021. Also the Urologist mentioned a figure of 102 (or 1.02) connected to the MRi scan. I have no idea to what that refers. How would I go about getting a copy of the scan, and would I understand it!

    1. Yes, def upward trend then

Not sure what 1.02 is, not come across before.

Contact the cancer centre and ask them for a copy.

Should give u an idea of any tumour size and location but of course they r not recognizing anything, strange must admit.

If u get the report come back on here , hopefully myself or others can help.

PSA increase can be caused by other things like an infection although been a steady increase for over a year.

  • Me now thinks that the 102 figure could have been PI-Rads 1 to 2 (very low to low) .... S

Over the past 12 months I've had covid twice and been accidentally glutened twice (I have Coeliac disease)

  • Yes u could be right about P rads which would indicate you're ok, but psa still unexplained.

Don't worry too much for now but obviously have another PSA in 3 months u could ask about a possible infection, perhaps your GP can help

    Keep in touch
