Hi I am 65 years old from Ni.Ireland I had a prostate biopsy done on 23rd March 2022. I was supposed to get my results on the 13 th May.. This appointment was then cancelled until the 8th June . I actually know my results through my local GP. Results came back positive for Cancer..I don't know how severe it is ,but can I assume it's not too bad as my appointment has been delayed for another 4 weeks . I would appreciate if anyone can help. Thank you .
Pete, I can't believe that they are still going with Phone Consulting, especially with Prostate Cancer. Unbelievable!
Anyway have you decided whether to go for Surgery or Radiation? My Radiation was for 20 fractions and 12 months of Hormones.
Don't know if I mentioned this before, in this course I am doing at the moment, Intensive Radiation was mentioned. No Hormones, just one week of intensive Radiation treatment.
Not everyone is eligible, it could be worth asking about. You can only have one course of the Intensive, as it would have a detrimental effect on your organs.
My best piece of advice is to keep a "thought diary". I'm nearly finished my 5th now. Every morning now I go back to this day last year. It's frightening times, seeing what I was like then. I'm so glad that I kept going with it.
Better go, work to do.

Morning Kate,
How are things? Hope your husband is well. And you especially.

any news ?
A similar thing happened to me. I received a letter out of the blue which mentioned chemo. I’ve always dreaded chemo so it came as a real bblow. A quick phone call to the hospital revealed it was just an admin error. I was not very impressed with that but otherwise they can excellent to me.
Hi JoBe, thanks for responding to my post. You’re right, my heart sank when I read the letter. It’s been quite a year. As well as the biopsy, hormone treatment and radiotherapy, because of the growth outside my prostate, my right ureter blocks and compresses my kidney (like kidney stones). So I have been in and out of hospital having treatment for that.
I thought that when I was discharged last week I could have a break from treatment so it was all I needed. However, as you mentioned, one of the nurses just told me that it’s written on the paperwork for some blood tests, even though there are no plans for Chemo! So, awaiting confirmation one way or the other.
Anyway, My wife and I are heading off to Spain next week, which she needs as much as I do. So, everything else can wait till we get back.
thanks again JoBe and I hope all goes well for you.

Kate,
Just checking to see how you and your husband are doing.
Did you have a look at one of the other groups?
Sitting here, surrounded by cows, all this milk but none to put in my coffee, typical.
Stay strong.
