Hi all I’m currently on Zytiga, diagnosed 3rd September with advanced with extensive bone mets.
But I have to say when I’m on Zytiga I have very few problems, hot sweats are a nuisance and a few acres and pains, but if I had not been told I was dying of cancer then it would probably be no more than I would expect at 74.
Not very energetic but manage to work in the garden and play a little poor golf with a tolerate mate.
I did have to come off Zytiga for a while because of low calcium levels, they thought it could have been the cause but proved not to be.
Hi Paphos
Hubby too was diagnosed late November with advanced prostate cancer with multiple bone Mets in spine pelvis and shoulder. Like you he did not know anything was wrong until a massage after a game of golf. Lady said small lump on your back get it checked out. We did and that’s how we found out the devastating news that it was stage 4. Feel angry as he had a blood test every year for 15 years but no psa test was ever done. He was put on Firmagon immediately then after 6 weeks started chemo. We are hoping and praying that one day we may get to play a game of golf together again, even if it is just 9 holes. We used to play 3/4 times a week, now we can’t watch it on the tv. Strange the way a diagnosis can affect you! Stay strong. Oh, what handicap are you and where do you play?
Ginny
Play at Chesfield Down Golf & Country club Gravely Hertfordshire.
only 28 I’m afraid on the old handicap, had a stroke 4 years ago and that made driving off a lot more difficult.
like your husband I was getting blood test etc. because of the stroke but nothing discovered at that time.
I had chronic pain in my ribs caused the to check.
Gleson of 9 unfortunately but PSA is down a bit now to 16 ain’t great but just got to hope.
How old is hubby?
Hope this go well for you both, stay in touch.
Ray
Hi Ray
nothing wrong with handicap of 28. Hubby’s 15 mine 17. He’s 69 and I’m 56. Hubby has always played I started about 6 years ago. We are hoping when the chemo finishes that we may get a few more games in. We live in France but have spent the last 6 years in Spain playing 3/4 times a week.
Take care. Ginny
Hope all goes well, I don’t think my golf will improve much now, just enjoy getting out.
I used to play and train for rugby every week, was also a judo black belt county coach for Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire also fefereeing competitions and grading, so quite a busy life. Stopped most of that at 65 so need my golf.
whats treatment like in France / Spain is it all easily available without to much cost?
i sincerely hope things get better, I don’t really know what the future holds for me.
Ray
