Hi Lovely people

Hubby has bone Mets with his advanced p/c.

Does anybody out there know how much vitamin D he  should be taking a day to help his bones.

Thanks

Ginny

  • Hi Robbie, sorry to hear that. Happy to help where I can, I take it you are starting HT on Wednesday?  What will that be followed up with, have you been told? My treatment plan is on my profile. If you would like to chat private message me and I'll give you my contact details or just ask questions on here.

    Regards

    Hi Robbiee

Sorry to here you are now in this group.  Hubby diagnosed Nov 2021.  Came as a total shock to the both of us.  Hubby started on Firmagon injections, this was because of the bone mets.  He then went onto chemo 6 weeks later.  He is having his second this Thursday.  Hubby has come to terms with it better than me.  Hubby 69 and I’m 56.  We live in France so treatment may be slightly different but from what I’ve read it’s near enough the same.

Thanks Ginny, I hope you both get better, I have a wife and son, they are supportive but good to speak to someone in the same position as me, my treatment is being sorted asap, but will tell you more when I know.?

  • No problem, you need to accept my friendship request I think so the message option becomes available.

    Hi Robbiee

I will certainly answer any questions you may have as the whole thing is very confusing, particularly when first diagnosed.

It is always very helpful if you update your profile to include your diagnosis and current treatment plan as this will help you attract people who are in a similar position to yourself and the advice you will receive will therefore be more relevant.

    Best wishes,

    Andy.

  • Hi Robbie, I cannot message you on here sorry, if you email me at poz2008@googlemail.com I will get in touch. I hope you are OK mate. Good luck today

    Regards

  • Hi Ginny ,I have accepted your friend request .We have just had a few days away in Cornwall hence the late reply. My hubby has been on Adcal for a couple of years now. He is doing well on Abiraterone which he started just before xmas .We are still waiting to hear from the spinal specialist to see if surgery is an option for his extensive spinal metasteses. While he is feeling well in himself we are going away on short coach breaks when we can, no driving, the first thing I do is check out the nearest hospital and I always carry with me the last letter from his consultant .Short breaks away with friends helps lift our spirits.Take care.
