Hi, I just wanted to give a quick update. My husband decided to go for surgery to remove the prostate using the rezius and neurosafe approach. His recovery is going well so far. The histology results came back yesterday to show gleeson 4 + 3 with predominantly cribriform pattern 4 - I'm not sure what the cribriform means though. The stage was moved to T3a from T2, it does say 'established extroprostatic extension seen on the left base', even though all the margins came back clear. It worries me a little about the extroprostatic extension on the left as the surgeon preserved 80% of the left nerve bundle and 100% of the right. I think we will feel better after having a few good psa results under our belt so we can relax a bit and move forward. Thank you for all the amzing help on here to aid our decision making, it really was a great comfort.
Great news. T3A means that the tumour had reached the edge of the capsule, but not necessarily invaded the surrounding tissue. It sound as though the nerve sparing was successful. Good luck going forward and keep in touch.
