Bit random, but has anyone else passed a hem o lok clip whilst peeing? Hospital has been informed, but no one’s got back to us yet. No blood in urine, no pain. 4 weeks 5 days post RARP.
I've heard of this happening, with no problems. I'd keep checking your urine, and maybe up your fluid intake for a week or two, to reduce the risk of infection. But at the first sign of problems, if any, go see your GP.

Meanwhile, my priority is to live while I have the option.
Hi Vintage65,
Yes I have. First of all I had what was thought to be a urethral stricture, but after a scheduled scan, they found that a clip had migrated and was partially blocking the urethra. A quick operation to remove the clip and to slightly dilate the urethra cured the problem.
About 4 years later another stricture, only it wasn't. Another clip had migrated and I passed it just as I was about to check in with my gp. No issues of blood.
One thing though. When I had the op to remove the clip, I was catheterized for about 4 days. A few weeks later the urethra closed up. Second op to dilate again, butt the catheter stayed in for about 9 days. No recurrence of strictures. I think the urethra needed that long for healing to take place before catheter removal.
I checked with my surgeon to ask how many clips had been used in my prostatectomy. 8 to 11 was the answer! But he said that the migration of 1 clip is very rare, 2 is almost unheard of and 3 or more never!
Fingers crossed.
Hi, I'm 41 months post RALP and have a migrated clip stuck to my bladder wall. Seen my original surgeon who is hopefully going to remove it? He won't if he thinks it's too embedded and will wait longer to see if it detaches? I have had a series of infections which is why I ended up going back to GP. Do you have any advice?
Regards Dan
