My husband is currently having seven and a half weeks of radiotherapy. He has been so poorly. He lost his appetite and has lost over 2 stone. He was 23 stone and now just over 20. The fatigue has just wiped him out and he has experienced all the symptoms associated with radiotherapy. He now has sores appear on his pelvic area, his fingers and feet have become itchy and red. Has anyone experienced this? He is usually so energetic. It is so worrying to see him like this. He is 65 years old
You don't say how far into the 7.5 weeks ... but has he discussed this with the radiotherapy team?
The fatigue may well be linked to the hormone therapy (is he having that?), though radiotherapy can make it worse. If it's any consolation, many of the effects should fade away once the course is over, but I'd discuss it with the team.

He has had 5 and half weeks after today. Yes he has hormone replacement and been on it since March 2017. He tells his team how he is feeling each day but they just say it will get better. He is dizzy when he initially gets up to stand and walking is a tremendous effort. Just hoping when he finishes the treatment 2 weeks today, he will be in a better place
Sounds like it's a case of 'hang in there', sadly. But two weeks is do-able! Good Luck.
