This article is a general round up of recent progress in metastatic PCa  - I can't pretend to have understood the details of much of it, but  some bits are well worth reading, especially the conclusion:

"In conclusion, an extraordinary pace of drug development and approvals have revolutionized the treatment paradigm of metastatic prostate cancer over the past decade. The current era of targeted therapy, immunotherapy, theranostics, and the overall treatment of advanced prostate cancer will continue to evolve rapidly, and further improvements in survival outcomes are expected in the coming years. These advancements in therapeutics will also pose new challenges in the clinic in terms of treatment selection and sequencing of therapies, and will increasingly require additional studies that focus on optimization of outcomes and minimization of cost and toxicities."

  • Thanks for sharing this Heinous. I won’t pretend I understand it all too but it shows there is a lot of work going into treatments which prolong overall survival.

  • Hi Heinous

Your like me, always looking for what’s happening for people with PC, especially Metastatic, my personal opinion was immunotherapy the next best fight against this disease, as I call it. I know it still needs a lot of work and as always that little word pops up, Cost, weighing peoples lives against the pound.
Famous people have died and maybe have thrown fortunes trying for a cure. In this country we have an over worked NHS, but how strange it is that we find a lot of the new drugs that keep us going. The USA has the Mayo, which to does lots of tests, but you hardly hear of any other countries ( there are one or two ) that unless their keeping it secret, we and the U.S. are the main searchers for new medication for us.
I could well be wrong with some of what I’ve said, just me on my soap box.

    Stay safe
