Hi Gang,
I am a 64 year old and was diagnosed with PC in 2016 and
I chose cryotherapy treatment not confidently but as the best of the worst.
What I was not told at the time was all non remove treatments require
psa tests for the rest of your life and you are still a candidate for an
enlarged prostate causing the usual voiding problem, which I now have, had
this been explained I may have had it removed.
You don't know what you don't know until you know it...
My questions
1) Has anyone had TURP treatment after prostate cancer
treatment, or is it best to just accept the difficulties as it
is safer than further treatment?
2) Has anyone had a salvage prostatectamy or is this too
much of a gamble?
3) Does anyone know of a urologist who will give their time
to talk and give advice as the NHS do not really talk to you
and private uroligists have their own agender (money).
Any advice greatly appreciated
Hi
I can't help with the experience you're after but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the page where it'll be more easily seen.
All the best with whatever you decide to do

Hi CM
Sorry that I can't help with Q1.
Q2 I know that surgery after Radiotherapy is not advisable, but can be done, not sure about surgery after Cryo, it may be different.
You could give prostatecanceruk a ring and speak to a nurse, they can be very helpful.
Q3 Not easy trying to find someone for good advice, private prob the only way although can be hit and miss.
Again u could try prostatecanceruk.
Good luck
Steve
On question 3, my experience is very different to yours, and it may be that asking for a second opinion within the NHS is a way forward. Sometimes relationships just don't work. Also, your current service may have a nurse specialist who can take the time to discuss whatever issues are concerning you.
Questions 1 and 2 are outside my experience, I'm afraid.
