Hi... Recently diagnosed about three months ago prostate and bone cancer PSA 50  just had my first hormone jab and started getting the hot flushes and going to the loo every 5 minutes.. Any tips on slowing down going for a wee so often or taking away the aching bones

  • Hi

It will settle down, although the hot flushes will persist, the aching bones I take co codormol for two every four hours, it will have no effect on the medication your taking.
    Keep safe

  • Hi John.

The first thing to do cut out caffeine and alcohol totally as they don't sit well with the hormone treatment. I had the same trouble whet I started HT nearly three years ago and have only had three Xmas day drinks since. I drink redbush earl grey tea which is caffeine free and have gradually started to drink coffee again in the last six months. I have only got two more Prostap injections to go, one in March and the last one on our 52nd wedding anniversary! I might be tempted by a glass of Prosecco on that day!

Keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.

Hi... You say only 2 more injections to go.. Is there a maximum to have?

  • My HT is three years and I've had two and a half years so far!
