Hi good morning all I hope you are not struggling. I am new here and wanted to introduce myself. I am 65 and went to my GP in 2012 complaining about distal pain when needing to pee. This went on for some time so I was referred to a urologist privately. The referral said prostatitis and anxiety. My first appointment spoke about my twin brothers prostate cancer and he had operated on many sets of twins and if one gets it the other gets it. I had no clue why he mentioned this but would find out that it was in my letter to him from my GP about my twins brother. Now obviously I was concerned at the time but only slightly sitting down with my boss explaining about I might have prostate cancer like my twin brother and for him to say my dad had a heart attack does that mean I will have a heart attack. I don’t think so. I got no sympathy there. Guess what he had a heart attack but we are not on this planet to wish people any ill will. I was told I had a BOO bladder output obstruction not a full house picture he wrote. I had BPH large prostate not I had a small prostate. I had a Turp operation and a Bladder neck Incision and my health deteriorated never helped with the pain and made my pain worse where I was now in the local hospital urology. I was put under a GA as I had a low pain threshold eh no I had had scarring from previous surgery and at the time had painful glans put in there words that is a vague condition painful glans syndrome to look at my bladder. This carried on for another 10 years where my penis had been red since 2014 and it was now 2025 it started to ulcerate at the red glans. In 2023 I was told it was somatisation all in my head. So it took the cancer to burst out of my body. I had a pT3 warty baseloid LVI 23mm x16mm tumour p16 positive. I needed a partial penectomy and lucky for me my SNB were clear but my surgery failed and my kidneys are backing up and need to see a private reconstruction surgeon in 2 weeks to get an operation to stop my silent kidney damage.
Hello
Welcome to the Online Community.
I am sorry that you have not yet had a reply to your post but sometimes it can just take a little longer for someone in similar circumstances to see it and offer support.
I am sorry to hear of your cancer and other health issues. It sounds like you have had a rough time of it.
While you are waiting for someone to reply why not give the Support Line a call. Sometimes it can help to talk things through. There is someone there from 8am-8pm everyday.
I wish you well for your appointment with the reconstructive surgeon and hope that any further treatment can be done quickly for you. In the meantime if there is anything you need, please do ask.
Jane
