Hi everyone,
My husband is in his mid-to-late 30s. About five years ago, he was treated for testicular cancer. Earlier this week, he found a lump on the shaft of his penis — it’s on the foreskin, about halfway down. The lump feels very hard, almost like a small stone.
Naturally, given his medical history, he’s very anxious that this could be something serious or a recurrence of cancer.
Has anyone else experienced a lump in this area? What were your next steps for getting it checked out? If you did have something similar, what kind of treatment or surgery was required?
Thank you so much for any advice or shared experiences — it really helps to hear from others who’ve been through something similar.
Hello.
Sorry you find yourself here and get its a difficult time for you both.
From what I know, no expert but penile cancer survivor, it is unlikely to be connected to the previous cancer diagnoses. Its not a known pathway and give the time lapsed I would be thinking not connected.
The lump could be anything, many benign conditions can present as a lump so it would need checking. No one here could give you a definitive diagnoses and speculation will just add to the anxiety. Have it looked at and take it from there. But one thing I would say is 1st line primary care are always great at picking up penile cancer so if you are not put at ease do push for a referral to urology.
All the best
David
Good morning all,
I agree with David, you need to get to the doctors and they will move things on really quickly, if it is penile cancer.
I went after 48 hours when mine appeared and the medical professionals moved really quickly, which was just as well as it was an aggressive abnormal cancer , in my case.
You will get the best of treatment and treated early , hopefully, will make a full recovery.
all the best
Ian
Thank you.
He saw the GP the day after he noticed it, however there is a 2 week wait to see an oncologist. So we’re currently waiting for an oncology appointment.
