hi everyone

my husband has had a CT Scan and no blockage has been found. His bilirubin levels are quite high and he is jaundiced. Fluid build-up is causing his feet/angles to swell and his tummy seems more swollen. Has anyone had any experience with this maybe drainage etc. Any information/advice would be welcome. Thanks everyone

  • Hi Tedders

Good to hear from you again but sorry to hear of jaundice and fluid retention.

My husband experienced ascites which is a build up of fluid in the space around the organs in the abdomen and is quite common in PC. He had the fluid drained a couple of times in hospital. It was a straight forward process and gave him some relief. Your GP or specialist nurse should be able to help.

    Hi Squeaky

thanks for your reply squeaky. It’s a bit more reassuring to hear from someone with experience that the fluid drainage was straight forward. I guess because of gravity it’s going to the feet as well as tummy. Hopefully if at some stage the tummy is drained it will make a difference to his feet as these are now quite swollen. Thanks again

  • Hi Tedders

Don't wait too long before seeking assistance as it can be very tiring and annoying.

    Hi tedders

Just wanted to add to Squeaky’s post that my mum had this several times also, I think it’s quite normal with PC. Hope it’s sorted quickly x
