How big was everybody’s tumour when it was removed?

Mine was 15x15cm which I thought was big but my doctor said it wasn’t that big…

  • Hi again

Just 'bumping' your post back to the top of the discussion list.

  • Mine was 6cm via ultrasound scan and then a couple of weeks later it was 10 cm via MRI scan. My GP said that was because MRI is more accurate but I don't know.... Am waiting for a CT scan.

  • Yes MRI is definitely more reliable than CT scans.

My size didn’t change between the 2 though but I’m just wondering how big is really considered big. Mine was pushing against several organs but is earmy stage apparently- good news but I do find it a bit confusing.

I’m guessing growth is different to spread though - it was pushing and sitting on some organs but maybe because it hadn’t gone into any of them and could just be lifted off, it hadn’t “spread”…

Hope you get answers soon. Good luck!

  • I’ve been wondering the same thing, just how big is big?

The report from my initial ultrasound last week described it as affecting both overies, difficult to accurately gauge size as mass is ‘vast’. From CT I’ve been told mass on one overy is 9cm and the other is 13cm. Sounded pretty big to me but then my sister told me her colleague had a 20cm ovarian cyst removed.

Kinda weird to think I could be unaware of this size blob but I guess I don’t know how fast it grew since I noticed first symptom.

  • Hi I've just undergone my surgery 3 months ago I had tumors on each ovaries one was 18cm x 20cm the other was 5cm .

U could actually feel an see the big one when I laid down an caused other issues .
