Hypoechoic lesion

Hi All,

I am 47, still having periods. Last year in August I was diagnosed with left breast fibroadenoma 1cm. I had an ultrasound recently that showed left ovary twice enlarged with 3cm haemorrhaging cyst and 2cm hypoechoic lesion. My CA125 was 38. Also my bilirubin was elevated 39. These tests were done privately and I decided to speak to GP about it. She asked me to repeat the CA125 and I am still waiting for the results. I got a private referral for an MRI with contrast (gladolinym) but chose to go NHS route due to costs. Does anyone know if on NHS they offer MRI or CT scan? Also does it have to be with contrast? I have problems with histamine and mast cells due to impaired methylation and I am afraid of the contrast.
Can someone advice what hypoechoic lesion could be?
In terms of my symptoms I had a bleeding a few weeks back, probably from the haemorrhaging cyst. I do get light abdominal pain on that side and yellow discharge. I am very worried as I also have new very unusual symptoms but they may be due to anxiety or related to my histamine issues. After an infection in December last year I think I developed a condition called laryngeal sensory neuropathy and tingling, numbness on the left side of my body plus tinnitus  in the left ear. The laryngeal neuropathy comes with burning mouth syndrome and strange taste in my mouth. It goes away if I take xanax. The GP suggested it could  be reflux but reflux medication doesn’t help me only xanax which indicates nerve involvement. Thank you in advance for any comments.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

I did a group search to see if anyone else here has mentioned hypoechoic lesions but drew a blank I'm afraid and I couldn't find any mention of them on the main Macmillan website.

You could post your question in the ask a nurse section of the online community and one of the Macmillan nurses will aim to respond within 3 working days. If this is something that you'd like to do, clicking on the link I:ve created will take your straight there.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnoses and tests to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
